Just in time for Halloween, the sonic phantoms that have long plagued the ladies of The View have seemingly possessed inanimate objects over on the Live With Kelly and Mark set.

Tuesday morning’s episode saw cohosts Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos covering the lively topic of mosquitos, with Ripa turning toward the camera to tell the audience, “Squash them now!”

Later, as Consuelos noted the spike in insect life due to warming temperatures around the globe, ghosts (allegedly) of the season cut in to make their presence known.

As Consuelos spoke, a loud buzzing noise clapped through the studio space, with the actor pausing to take note of the distraction in the moment.

“Uh-oh,” Consuelos said, with his wife later turning to the side to look at the noise.

“What is it?” Ripa asked, pausing the show momentarily.

“What is it?” Consuelos said, echoing his wife before identifying the culprit. “Oh, refrigerator!”

Without explaining how or why a refrigerator made it to set, Ripa appeared to be relieved after the perpetrator was apprehended.

“Okay, it’s off. It’s over, it’s fine,” asserted Ripa before Consuelos carried on with the conversation.

In April, the couple navigated another mid-episode interruption — this time from an audience member who shouted out during an interview with actor Christopher Meloni.

“We’ll handle the questions, ma’am,” Ripa said to the audience member at the time, prompting a laugh from the studio crowd.

In other insect-related developments on Live, Ripa revealed over the summer that her grandfather used to kill fireflies and fashion their dead bodies into jewelry for her.

“My grandfather would capture the firefly and he would take the light out of their bodies and put them on our fingers and say, ‘Look! A diamond!’” Ripa said in August.
