Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos revealed they cut their kids out of their Christmas card this year.

The TV personalities explained that waiting for their children to approve a family portrait that they all like has been too much of a hassle every year.

This year, they told People that they made a major change to just take their three children — Michael, 28, Lola, 24 and Joaquin, 22 — out of their card this time.

‘We’re tired of getting all the photos approved by our kids every year,’ Consuelos, 54, said. ‘They’re out.’

Ripa — who also admitted to a plane etiquette faux pas recently — chimed in, adding: ‘We’ve cut them out.’

The Live with Kelly and Mark cohosts also shared their kids’ response to the act, who they replaced them with on the card instead and how they will continue keeping their children out of their Christmas card until they

Ripa, 55, explained that she and her husband got tired of waiting for their sign-offs.

She recalled telling their kids: ‘I said, “I’m tired of waiting around for you to approve a picture. I’ve got to move.”‘

She continued, ‘They complained that they’re not in the Christmas card this year. They feel very slighted, and [said], “How could you?”‘

The longtime couple — who have been married for 29 years and together for a decade — then shared who they put on their holiday card this year instead of their children.

The pair said they used a photo they took with the Dallas Cowboy cheerleaders from an episode of their talk show this year.

Ripa jokingly described how her husband looked ‘the happiest I’ve ever seen him in a Christmas card’ with the cheerleaders instead of their children.

The television stars had snapped the photo with them after the cheerleaders performed to Santa Claus Is Coming to Town at the end of Live with Kelly and Mark’s Halloween episode in October.

‘We took a picture on the set with the Dallas Cowboys cheerleaders, and Mark is in the middle and we’re all in our special outfits,’ Ripa recalled.

‘And Mark just has a look on his face that is like… he’s so excited and happy. He’s the happiest I’ve ever seen him in a Christmas card,’ she continued.

‘This year’s going to be great,’ Consuelos added.

‘It’s a good one,’ Ripa agreed. ‘I don’t mind telling you, it’s a good one.’

In the past, the couple said they haven’t always had portraits that included their children.

Consuelos recalled how he once used a photo of him with his TV family on Riverdale when their three kids ‘were also being not very cooperative’ that year.

‘That was another good Christmas card,’ Ripa said.

The couple also shared how they are thinking about starting a new tradition of making Christmas cards without their children and discussed who they might rather take a photo with in the coming years.

‘The Radio City Rockettes, they’re amazing,’ she said about the professional dancers, who will be appearing on their annual Christmas Sweater episode in the coming weeks.

Every year I’m like, “We gotta get a picture with the Rockettes but we do the show so late and I gotta get my Christmas card to the printer early. So maybe we’ll do a picture this year for next year’s Christmas card,’ she said, to which Consuelos said it was a ‘perfect’ idea.

Then, the couple earnestly said they will return to adding their children to the Christmas card ‘when they have kids’ and after they become grandparents.

‘That’s right,’ Ripa agreed. ‘But until there’s grandchildren, they’re done. We’re just going to cut the kids out.’
