Paris Jackson and Justin Long have been making headlines after they officially ended their relationship and called off their engagement. She confirmed the news after several photos of her crying in public around the anniversary of her father, Michael Jackson’s death, started circulating on social media, on July 23, 2025. In her response to a Daily Mail post on X, Jackson wrote:

“those are breakup tears. y’all are fkn reaching again.”

However, it is unclear what led to the split. The couple had announced their engagement in December 2024, two years after they first met.

Rumors were rife that Paris Jackson was not the biological daughter of the “King of Pop” and his wife, Debbie Rowe, since she was conceived through in vitro fertilisation and Rowe was only the surrogate who gave birth to Paris and Michael Jr., per TMZ. In 2017, Mark Lester claimed to be the father of Paris, stating that he donated his sperm at the request of the singer.

Despite the speculation, Paris Jackson’s family never officially confirmed these rumors and has maintained that she is Michael’s biological daughter.

According to a report in People magazine, Paris Jackson was born to Michael Jackson and his ex-wife, Debbie Rowe, on April 3, 1998, in Los Angeles. She is currently 27 years old. She also has an older brother named Prince, who was born to her parents in 1997.

Michael met Rowe in 1986. At that time, she worked as a dermatology assistant at a practice where he was a patient. They became good friends over the years and eventually decided to tie the knot in 1996. Jackson was previously married to Lisa Marie Presley, whom he divorced in 1996.

Jackson and Rowe divorced in 1999, and the singer was given full custody of his kids. After their father’s death in June 2009, the kids went on to live with their grandmother, Katherine Jackson, at Neverland Ranch, Jackson’s estate, which is now known as The Sycamore Valley Ranch. Paris was only 11 years old when he died.

Paris has often spoken out about the rumors surrounding her paternity. In a 2017 interview with Rolling Stone, she said:

He added:

“in all of her strengths, and almost all of her weaknesses as well. She’s very passionate. She is very emotional to the point where she can let emotion cloud her judgment.”

Paris noted that her eyes and complexion resemble Wentworth Miller, who has a black father and a white mother.
