ANDREA BOCELLI’s daughter Virginia Bocelli has interviewed her father in a new video.

Andrea Bocelli is marking the 10th anniversary of, what is for him, his career highlight with a rerelease of Concerto: One Night In Central Park. The Italian tenor famously performed in the Big Apple accompanied by the New York Philharmonic Orchestra and Westminster Symphonic Choir. After streaming the whole 2011 concert on YouTube last weekend, Andrea has released a new video being interviewed about it by his daughter Virginia Bocelli.

Virginia, who performs with her father occasionally, attended the concert while still inside her mother’s womb.

She introduced the video in which she interviewed Andrea while sitting on his lap.

She said: “Hello everyone thank you for tuning into my dad’s YouTube channel.

“Today we will be here answering some questions you will send us and we hope you enjoy the show. Now let’s get on to my dad’s questions.”

Asked what One Night In Central Park meant to him, Andrea said: “It was definitely the highest, not just high, but the highest moment of my career.

“Because New York was the city that more than any other has given me all the most amazing and incredible opportunities of my career.

“By giving me the opportunity to sing at the Metropolitan, at the Madison Square Garden, at the Carnegie Hall and the Avery-Fisher Hall etc. I believe that for any singer in the world, to perform in Central Park is the dream of a lifetime.”

Virginia also asked which American singer had influenced her father over the years.

Andrea said: “Well, from the point of view of popular music, definitely Frank Sinatra.

“He truly inspired me. I have always loved to sing his songs and sometimes also in his own way.”

Virginia herself made her professional debut in a duet with her father last December.

She joined the Italian tenor on stage at the Teatro Regio di Parma for live-streamed concert Believe in Christmas.
