In April 2015, model Manuela Arbeláez accidentally gave away an answer to a contestant named Andrea before the game was finished. While she was guessing the price of a new car, Arbeláez unknowingly revealed the correct price of $21,960. The player was awarded the prize because of the flub.

Carey revealed in February 2021 that a round of Plinko was accidentally rigged during his second season of hosting. He explained that when a college student was playing the iconic game, all three of her chips landed directly into the $10,000 spot.
