Legendary TV personality Bob Barker, who died last week at 99, was honored in a tribute special hosted by Drew Carey, which aired yesterday on CBS.
The Price is Right: A Tribute To Bob Barker, was an hour-long tribute to the longtime game show host which featured some of his most memorable moments as host of The Price Is Right, as well as some emotional remembrances from celebrities like Adam Sandler and Carey himself, who took over hosting duties from Barker in 2007.
As he introduced the special, Carey spoke of Barker’s 50-plus years as a game show host, which included 35 years on The Price Is Right.
“Today, we celebrate Bob’s legacy with a look back at some of the incredible moments of his time here on The Price Is Right,” Carey said, and sniffled a bit before throwing to one of the many montages in the special, adding, “This is for you, Bob.”
The special highlighted memorable moments Barker shared with contestants, a retrospective of his career including his time as a radio announcer and host of Truth or Consequences, and his life-long dedication to animals, which led to his now-infamous catchphrase, “Help control the pet population, have your pets spayed or neutered.”

Carey closed out the special with a somber note of remembrance, saying, “Thanks to Bob, The Price Is Right became a part of the American fabric. A multigenerational legacy of viewers who loved him, along with the shared experience of watching the show with their grandparents, kids, or when they were home sick from school.”
He continued, “A bond that lasts to this very day… On behalf of all people and animals everywhere, thank you Bob Barker.”
