“She didn’t act like a celebrity. She acted like someone who really meant what she said — even if it was to a plant.”
That’s how the gardener described his very first encounter with Jennifer Aniston, and he still chuckles every time he tells the story.

It happened on a mild spring morning in Los Angeles. The gardener — who had just started working part-time for a landscaping company — was assigned to a property he was told belonged to “someone famous,” but no one had said exactly who.

“I arrived early,” he recalled. “The grass was a little wild, and I figured I’d start in the backyard where it was quieter.”

As he pulled the lawnmower across the slope behind the house, he noticed someone step out of the back door. “For you,” she said, handing them to him with both hands.
“It’s going to be a hot day. And thank you for taking care of the garden.”

There was no assistant, no entourage, no cameras. Just her, in bare feet, chatting with the guy mowing her lawn.

The gardener said he finished his work that day with a strange sense of lightness. Not because of what she did, but how she did it.
