Taylor Swift calls out Josh Allen by name during record-breaking appearance on New Heights podcast

If this past offseason was any indication, Josh Allen is a superstar, clinching the team’s first MVP since Thurman Thomas won the award in 1991 was no small feat. He followed it up by marrying a superhero in Hailee Steinfeld. To add to his stardom, Allen was mentioned by name in the latest episode of New Heights when the Kelce brothers brought in none other than Taylor Swift.

Swift, on what she believed happened during a football game, “I thought that the quarterbacks… it was like Jared Goff is here, and Josh Allen is here. They blow a whistle, and they go at each other. And it’s like, who’s gonna win?” The kind-hearted admission immediately drew a laugh from the trio (and also myself, if I am being honest).

Recording-breaking appearance

To no one’s surprise, Swift’s appearance drew in a massive crowd with football fans and Swifties alike attached to her every word. To an audience of over 1 million, live on YouTube, Swift opened up about her first meeting with Travis Kelce. With it, she admitted to not knowing anything about the sport he played, which resulted in her comments about a gladiator-esque duel between both teams’ QBs.

Getting a little more personal, Swift opened up on what she had thought was a rollercoaster of emotions, having the two brothers face off in the Super Bowl, where she believed both of them would be on the same field together.

“[On] our first date asked him what it was like when the Chiefs played the Eagles in the Super Bowl, and he looked across the field, across the line of scrimmage, and saw his brother standing on the other side, five feet in front of him on the field. I now know what an insane question that was. He (Travis) was like ‘Actually, I’m on the offense, and my brother is on the offense. I’m only on the field at the same time as the defense. I thought everyone was on the field at the same time.

Not so fast, Taylor. Put some respect on #17

That’s when the viral Allen moment happened. But, with all due respect to Swift, we have a big problem with her next comments, “I would love to see Jared Goff play some defense. Let’s see Jared Goff on defense.”

Goff is an amazing QB, but we’d have to argue that Allen would suit better in that position solely based on what occurred during practice on Wednesday. Brandon Beane opened up on the viral moment during his appearance on The Pat McAfee Show.

“The defense picked a ball off today that wasn’t even against him and he chased him down.. He punched the ball out and the whole offense went crazy.” Your move, Goff. But seriously, maybe Allen keeps that in his holster for only when it’s really needed, and we hope he never needs it.

No shade to Jared Goff. However, for more of an entertaining experience, Taylor Swift might reconsider wanting to see what Allen can do instead.
