Randi Mahomes Teases Menu for Son Patrick Mahomes’ 1587 Prime Steakhouse: ‘How Do I Get a Reservation?’ (Exclusive)

Patrick Mahomes’ mother, Randi Mahomes, is teasing a few dishes that diners can find on the 1587 Prime menu.

During an exclusive red carpet interview with PEOPLE on Sunday, Aug. 24, fo ESPN’s recently released docu-series on the Kansas City Chiefs titled The Kingdom, Randi opened up about the exciting new venture her son is launching.

“How do I get a reservation?” she quipped. “I’m like, Patrick, come on.”

The mom of four noted that the Mahomes family has chosen a private day to check out the Kansas City venue, but for the general public, the grand opening has been scheduled for Sept. 17, which also happens to be Patrick’s birthday.

Regarding the opening date, she recalled telling her son, “I know you didn’t plan that,” because “he’s not a planner like that.” She also went on to share just how excited Patrick has been updating her on the menu and drink offerings, and showing her photos of the restaurant’s developments.

“I’m really proud,” Randi confessed. “I didn’t know he would be that excited about a restaurant, but he really, really is.”

The proud mom also gave a few tidbits on what’s to be expected on the menu, including favorites of Patrick’s and his wife, Brittany. To this, she laughed, “I’m like, ‘What about mom here?’ But I love everything. I’ve tasted a lot of it, and so, it’s been fun.”

Buzz about the highly anticipated culinary debut of the two NFL superstars first began in March 2024, when the restaurant, in partnership with hospitality group Nobel 33, was first slated for an “early 025” release date. By April, the opening was pushed back to “summer 2025.”

That same month, they began hiring for the new venue, searching for its operations manager, bar manager and an executive chef. Towards the end of July, Patrick and Kelce posted a video of their first taste test of the menu offerings, including prime steak cuts and various butter options, including white truffle, chiles toreados, bone marrow, garlic, and hibiscus, alongside truffle soy and chimichurri.

“That food was better than I could have imagined!!” Kelce commented at the time. “KC get ready baby!!” Even Kelce’s mom, Donna, shared her excitement for 1587 Prime when she posed outside of the restaurant-in-development.

“Can’t wait for Patrick’s & Travis’ steakhouse to open on the first floor of Loew’s hotel in Kansas City!!!” Donna captioned the Facebook photo of her and the location’s signage.

1587 Prime, whose name is inspired by the Kelce and Mahomes’ jersey numbers, will occupy 10,000 square feet and two floors on the lower levels of the Loews Hotel in the downtown area of the city.

On Aug. 18, the Instagram account for the restaurant announced the official opening date along with the availability for reservations. “Beginning Wednesday, August 20 at 12pm CST, you can reserve your table for opening night and beyond,” reads the caption. “Be among the first to experience Kansas City’s newest steakhouse.”

The restaurant’s debut is two weeks after the NFL 2025-2026 season kicks off, on Thursday, Sept. 4. The Dallas Cowboys will play the Philadelphia Eagles, followed by Kelce and Mahomes’ team, the Kansas City Chiefs, against the Los Angeles Chargers the next day.
