We finally have what the fans have been waiting for, and that’s the Washington Commanders jersey schedule for the 2025 season. Just like everything else, the team knows how to make a jersey schedule fun, especially with the debut of the new alternative “Super Bowl Era” jerseys, but they added a little something extra.

The Commanders had to troll an upcoming opponent this season and remind them of a very memorable matchup of theirs last year.

The troll that had to be done

The team was very selective on when to wear which jerseys this season, with there now being four selections available, but one option was an obvious choice. The Commanders are bringing out the “Battle Black” uniform for the Week 6 rematch at home against the Chicago Bears on October 13th.

This is the same uniform that the Commanders had on last season when they shocked the world with the Jayden Daniels Hail Mary touchdown for the win against the Bears.

If Washington fans remember correctly, there was a lot of trash talk going on between the fan bases before this game. Maybe this troll can add some extra fuel to the fire when the game comes up, especially if the Commanders win memorably again.

The debut of the “Super Bowl Era” uniforms

The Commanders are going back to their roots with a throwback style white jersey and the new helmet with the classic center strips again. A majority of the fans love the callback and believe these are a vast upgrade over the current white uniforms, and I can’t wait to see these on the field for the first time.

The “Super Bowl Era” uniforms will be worn three times this season, with the debut coming in Week 9 against the Seattle Seahawks at home. The next two times we will see them are in Week 13 at home on Sunday Night Football against the Denver Broncos, and at home on Christmas Day against the Dallas Cowboys, hitting all the nostalgia.

Rumors are that these could be the main jerseys after this season, so that’s something to keep an eye on.

The remainder of the schedule

That leaves the “Legacy Burgundy” and “Monument White” for the rest of the opponents, and the Week 1 selection was surprising to me. The “Monument White” uniforms, which aren’t too popular with the fan base, will be worn Week 1 at home, and also in Weeks 4, 5, 8, 11, 14, 15, and 18, so you will see them a lot in hopefully their last season.

The burgundy jerseys, which are the only primary burgundy jerseys the team has right now, will be worn first on the road in Week 2 against the Green Bay Packers, and then in Weeks 3, 7, 10, and 16.

The “Super Bowl Era” white jerseys will fly off the shelves when they go on sale at the stadium, so make sure you make it to those games to grab one. The black alternates are another fan favorite, and the Commanders decided to save those for a special occasion this season, and I don’t mind the troll at all.
