The Price Is Right’s host, Drew Carey, dropped a surprising detail about having contestants win cars on the hit CBS game show.
During the June 10 episode, contestant Timothy made it to the stage to meet Carey after guessing the nearest retail price of boxing gear.
The host, who took over from Bob Barker in 2007, instantly noticed the player’s shirt, which mentioned that he was a retired veteran who had served for 30 years.
After congratulating Timothy on his service, announcer George Gray revealed that the contestant had the chance of winning a sedan if he won a game of the Card Game.
The game is a pricing game played with a standard deck of 52 playing cards for a brand new car as well as with a special card deck to determine how close they must come to the car’s actual retail price without going over to win it.

As presenter James O’Halloran rolled the car toward the audience, Timothy asked Carey if it was running.
“He just asked me if it ran,” Carey explained to the audience. “We just push it out. Three guys pushed it out because we’re not allowed to start the engines on stage because of the fumes.”
Carey added: “We don’t wanna kill anyone.” The host then faked while saying, “Hey, welcome to The Price Is Right.”
Timothy went on to win the sedan and a spot in the Showcase Round.
He bid 25k on a TV, sound system, kitchen, and a trip to Singapore. His opponent, Jeremy, bid $31k on a book nook, a trip to Aruba, and an SUV. Jeremy won the episode.

Last week, a player made a last-minute change to her game because of a “gut feeling,” and it cost her an incredible win.
During the June 6 episode, contestant Carolyn made it to the stage to meet Carey after guessing the nearest retail price of a computer.
Gray revealed that she had the chance of winning a trip to Nashville if she won a game of Coming or Going. In this game, a player slides a board from left to right to reveal the price they think a prize is worth.
Carolyn initially listened to the crowd and slid the number to make the lower number, $6k, but just as Carey revealed the answer, she quickly changed it to the $8k price.
She claimed she had a “gut feeling” to change the price at the last minute.
“Last second change,” Carey said before he revealed that she’d been correct with her first guess.
He then joked, “If only there was a sad country song we could play for her.”
Later, Carolyn failed again while spinning the wheel to get into the Showcase Round.
Brenda and Brady battled it out in the Showcase, with Brady bidding $35k on a trip to Vienna and a sedan.
Brenda bid $25k on designer sunglasses, a trip to the Maldives, and a boat, but Brady ended up winning.
